More Opportunities with Digital Learning

The significant impact of COVID-19 is inevitable. It hits the global health and economy severely. It affects and exacerbates the quality of education as most of the learning process changes online. It is very challenging as it reduces the vibes of learning itself with many distractions, such as technical issues. As a result, students cannot achieve the optimal learning outcomes, and they feel stressed and pressured. I felt all those things in the same way, but it only happened at the first phase before I became aware that when most of the learning processes in the world changed online, the more opportunity to learn I will obtain from any part of the world. The stress disappeared since I changed my mindset in dealing with this situation. Therefore, I firmly believe that digital learning opens more learning opportunities for students provided they are aware, curious, and having plans to learn and what to achieve.

First, I believe awareness about the nature of digital learning is essential to obtain more opportunities. We should understand that since most education programs in the world changed online, the previously conducted offline program changed to online. When the program is conducted online, there are no geographical boundaries to attend that program, especially when it is open to the public. Many free seminars, online courses, and even internships worldwide are available for the public and conducted fully online. In short, when we are not aware of the nature of digital learning, we will not understand many opportunities are open.

Second, although we are aware that many programs are conducted online, I believe we could not harness those online opportunities without curiosity. Why? Not all online programs will be suitable for us; for example, we found many seminars about public health while we love journalism. If we lack curiosity, we are reluctant to search for more online programs that are suitable for us. Therefore, we will stop searching while more golden opportunities are waiting for us.

Third, planning what to learn and achieve is crucial. I saw some of my friends were giving up on this situation. They said they could not understand the lectures; they do not know what to do. I said that they should plan their learning process. Most of the information is available on the internet; we can google what we do not know when we do not understand the lecture. Also, we can enhance our skills by following specific accounts on Instagram or Facebook to get more information about seminars and online courses or even part-time jobs. Further, we should manage our time when working, studying, or playing; otherwise, we will waste our time or feel burnout.
